Coaching Philosophy
My philosophy is very much a holistic approach where I look at all aspects of the game. I believe that the club face rules when it comes to technical work, but club path and body movement are also key. Personally, I like to spend a lot of time with pupils out on the golf course as I firmly believe you have to learn to perform in ‘real golf’ situations.

Why Book With Me
Golf lessons should be fun and I always make sure my pupils leave having enjoyed their time, happy and clear as to what the critical steps are that they need to take to improve.

Q. What year did you turn professional?
I turned professional in 2004.

Q. What can a golfer expect from a lesson with you?
Enjoy a fun experience and gain an understanding of how to effectively swing the golf club, so you can achieve repeatable results.

Q: What aspect of the game do you specialise in coaching?
I’ve coached now for 18 years, so I like to think I can coach complete beginners to competent golfers of any age.

Q: What was your greatest playing achievement?
My three Pro Ams victories!

Q: What technology do you use in your lessons and how do you believe it helps?
Hudl Tech which allows me to analyse swings on my phone, and also the technology on our range.

Q: What three words would best describe you as a coach?
Fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Q: As a player, what weakness have you struggled with and what did you do to correct it?
I suffer from Hooks, so I work on better clubface control and body movement.

Q: What would you say to a beginner who might be intimidated by / nervous of the idea of taking up golf as a sport?
Nerves are a good thing. If you take up golf, you’ll learn a wonderful new skill, get exercise and also make lots of new friends as golf is very social.

Q: What life skills do you believe golf teaches a person?
Patience. To be a golfer, you need patience. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Q: Favourite course that you’ve ever played?
My favourite course is the Walton Heath old course.

Q: Which course is number one on your bucket list to play / is your dream course to play?
My dream course is Augusta.

Q: Who is your favourite Major Champion of all time?
Tiger Woods.

Q: Who would join you in your dream fourball?
My dream fourball would be my colleagues Mike Yorke, Neil Burke and Josh Budd – but I never get invited! 😉 So it would be myself, Tiger Woods, Phil Michelson and Moe Norman.

Q: Favourite club in the bag?
My favourite club is the 5 wood.

Q: Best quick golf tip?
Understand club face positioning!
