Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is to treat each and every client on a case-by-case, person-first approach to the golf swing. I do not believe that there is a perfect swing model to follow, as fundamentally, our bodies, experiences and minds are all so different. The key to better golf is to work out how to build a swing around your own unique body patterns that you can repeat time and time again. If you can create a solid, repeatable shot that you can take on to the course then you just made playing golf a lot easier!

Q: What year did you turn professional?
The year I turned professional was 2010.
Q: What can a golfer expect from a lesson with you?
In a lesson with me you can expect a bespoke, personalised experience based around your swing, your goals and what you want to achieve. I always guide the lesson around how you move and how you see the world to get the best result possible for you!
Q: What aspect of the game do you specialise in coaching?
I don’t specialise in any specific area; instead, I cover all aspects and create comprehensive game programmes. However, my particular favourite is working with golfers who have mobility issues, helping them find a way to swing the club without injury while considering their individual needs.
Q: What was your greatest playing achievement?
Tying my dad’s course record when I was an amateur.
Q: What technology do you use in your lessons and how do you believe it helps?
Hackmotion helps me understand a player’s wrist conditions in their swing, providing clear imagery for the client to comprehend. Flightscope Range is a tool I use for accurate data tracking and analysis during practice sessions. OnForm Video Analysis is video analysis software that enables in-depth assessment of your swing. It is also great for sharing your swing during your own practice sessions.
Q: As a player, what weakness have you struggled with and what did you do to correct it?
At times, I have struggled with my wedge play. By implementing focused variable practice, I have been able to better gauge my yardages and improve my accuracy from the 60-100 yard range.
Q: What would you say to a beginner who might be intimidated by / nervous of the idea of taking up golf as a sport?
Golf is a very rewarding sport as it is just you versus the course. When it’s good, it’s fantastic. When it’s not going well, it can be frustrating, but that is part of the challenge and should be embraced. You’ll get to meet new people, face new challenges, and play a game that you can hopefully enjoy for the rest of your life.
Q: What life skills do you believe golf teaches a person?
Persistence, patience, expectation management and concentration.
Q: Favourite course that you ever played?
My favourite course is Troia in Portugal.
Q: Which course is number one on your bucket list to play / is your dream course to play?
My dream course to play at would be Cypress Point.
Q: Who is your favourite Major Champion of all time?
Tiger Woods.
Q: Who would join you in your dream fourball?
My dream fourball would be: me, Tiger, Seve and Lee Trevino.
Q: Favourite club in the bag?
My favourite club is the 2 iron.
Q: Best quick golf tip?
Book an in-person lesson with me. Generic quick golf tips hinder more golfers than they help, and therefore you won’t find me offering these. A bespoke, personalised lesson will give you the most relevant drills and tips to help you improve quicker!
