Understanding Wedge Gapping and Bounce
Martin Hill, one of our PGA coaches at Horsham Golf, shares his thoughts on Wedge Gapping and Bounce!
- For maximum success with your short game, it’s critical to have the correct wedge gapping. Correct wedge gapping and bounce helps promote optimal distance, contact, and control.
- It is recommended that the gaps between your wedges should be between 4-6 degrees, which in turn roughly equates to a 10-15 yards of gap between wedges.
- I like to carry 4 wedges, giving me tighter distance gaps. My pitching wedge loft is 46 degrees so my wedge combination is 46/50/54/58 giving me 4 degrees increments.
